In the office today. I can see Colleague 1, but Colleague 2 is round a corner.
Colleague 1 (in an incredulous tone) "You bubble wrap your bananas?"
Colleague 2 (as if everyone does) "Of course I do"
And shifting from my seat, I see that Colleague 2 is indeed carefully wrapping her bananas in bubble wrap.

Fabulous! I love it.
(And am inspired to do the same to my bananas now... Does that make me weird?!)
Her reason for it was to stop them getting bruised when she cycles home with them in her bag. Which makes some sort of sense.
Unless you are taking your bananas on a journey, I think it is pretty pointless activity, but it might be satisfying.
Not to be outdne, I might wrap my apples in brown parcel paper and put my oranges in a jiffy bag.
Last time I was in germany in a supermarket they were giving out inflatable banana covers to wrap your bananas in to keep them nice on the way to/from work...it was weird then and I still find it weird now!
I've seen those individual banana shield cases which are bizarre but no use for a whole bunch. Should I ever need to buy this woman a present, I will try to get to a German supermarket to get her those inflatable covers.
I'm afraid, my mind (that lives in the sewers) can get past the thought of a bubble wrap sheath!
Sorry.
Dimpled for your pleasure.
