I agree...as far as custard creams are concerned the cheapest are often the best (I tend to get boxes of broken biscuits from our local stockist) but really cheap chocolate tastes awful....
I never met a custard cream I didn't like.
Oh but Roses...with your allegedly addictive personality ... did you ever meet ANY biscuit you didn't like? :-)(sorry!)
